Special Discount Programs

California State Parks offers a variety of discounts to visitors who qualify. For more information, inquire at the Campground Entrance Station, the Ranger’s Office at the Hearst Castle Visitor Center, or write to:

The Distinguished Veteran Pass is the only pass that is accepted for tours at Hearst Castle.  Qualified residents of California must submit an application and receive the pass prior to visiting Hearst Castle.  To make a reservation for tours at Hearst Castle using the Distinguished Veteran Pass, please call 1-800-444-4445 and mention that you are making a reservation with this pass.  The qualifying information for this pass is listed below:

Distinguished Veteran Pass:
For honorably discharged war veterans who are residents of California with a 50% or more service-connected disability, or were held as prisoners of war by forces hostile to the United States, or recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor. This pass entitles the holder to the use of all basic State Park System operated facilities, including camping, day use, and tours of Hearst Castle at no further charge. It is not valid for group campsites, commercial use or for supplemental fees and cannot be used in conjunction with any other pass and/or discount.

Application for other discounts and passes for California State Parks including the Annual Day Use Parking Pass, the Disabled Discount Pass, the Golden Bear Pass and the Golden Poppy Pass may also be made in person and purchased at the Hearst Castle Visitor Center for the convenience of our visitors, but are not valid for Hearst Castle Tours. 

Parking and admission to the Hearst Castle Visitor Center complex are free.
