- The North Esplanade is a broad open area used as a promenade around the main building and connecting the guest houses. The esplanade forms a key part of the design of the gardens. Besides allowing the movement of people between the building and throughout the grounds, it serves to tie everything together visually.
- Casa del Mar is the Castle's largest and most elaborate guest house that embraces a full view of the Pacific Ocean. It was in Casa del Mar that Mr. Hearst himself spent his final years of residence on the hilltop.
- The Hidden Terrace is an interesting spot in the Castle that is a remnant of early construction. It includes a staircase, a pond, and a terrace completely concealed by later creation and rediscovered during the modern restoration.
- The Wine Cellar part of the basement of Casa Grande and is comprised of two separate rooms with a vault door. The total capacity of the 220 bins is at least 7,000 bottles and features rare European vintages and California wines. However, the majority of these bottles are extremely old and their quality has become too poor to consume.
- The Neptune Pool Dressing Room constructed in 1928 bares a total of seventeen rooms and four colorfully painted dressing quarters.
- The Neptune Pool and the Roman Pool are highlighted on all Hearst Castle tours.
