- The North Terrace is an unfinished area of the Castle that was to become the estate’s Grand Entrance. Built over an earlier set of stairs and terraces, the North Terrace construction started in 1929, and was part of a project to keep the terraces in scale with the expansion of the Main House, Casa Grande. Originally designed to include a pool alcove, fountains and statuary, the terrace was never completed due to expenses from other projects and the Depression.
- The Neptune and Roman Pools are highlighted on all Hearst Castle tours.

- Tour Three will last approximately one hour and 45 minutes including a bus ride to and from the Castle.
