California State Parks
The mission of the California Department of Parks and Recreation
is to provide for the health, inspiration and education of the people
of California by helping to preserve the state's extraordinary biological
diversity, protecting its most valued natural and cultural resources,
and creating opportunities for high-quality outdoor recreation.
The California State Park's very best is represented by their locations
in and around Hearst Castle. From W.R.
Memorial State Beach and San
Simeon State Park to the Elephant
Seals and Hearst Castle itself,
some of the finest parks and campgrounds in California are located
within a short distance from the feature attraction. Come enjoy
the best that California Department of Parks and Recreation has
to offer, come visit the Hearst Castle Historical Monument.
For general State Park information, contact the Information Officer
at P.O. Box 942896, Sacramento, CA 94296-0001, call (916) 653-6995
or visit the State Park's website.
Because the San Simeon SP brochure is a large size brochure (17"
x 20.5"), for the PDF I have had to lay out the brochure to
read on letter size pages. The maps on these larger brochures are
usually large as well and need to be divided to also fit a letter
size page.
