TOUR INFORMATION
May 5, 2004 - The Bureau of Land
Management is offering limited, public tours
of the Piedras Blancas Light Station, which,
until recently, has been closed to the public
for over 129 years. These "pre-restoration"
tours are being offered to acquaint the
public with the site and its activities
and to showcase the future restoration and
site management goals.
The tours are being offered on the following
date(s) in 2004: May 8; June 26; July 24;
August 28; September 25; October 23; November
20; December 18; and January 22, 2005.
To make reservations please contact the
National Geographic Theater, Monday through
Friday from 9am to 4 pm at (805) 927-6811.
The tours will be offered at 10 a.m. and
2 p.m. once a month and will originate at
the Hearst Castle State Historic Monument
Visitor Center, located at 750 Hearst Castle
Road, San Simeon, California.
Prices for the tours are: $15.00 Adults
and $5.00 for Children (under the age of
18). In the event of "no shows"
on the day of the tours, vacant seats will
be filled on a first come, first served
basis.
The Bureau of Land Management and its partners
are proud to be able to offer these tours
of the Light Station to better acquaint
the public with this unique resource.
