Kids Learn About California’s History at Hearst Castle®
San Simeon, CA – With summer vacations and family road trips underway, elementary school aged children have an opportunity to learn about California’s history at Hearst Castle®. As one of California’s architectural icons and major historical points of interest, Hearst Castle® allows the young learner to visit and explore one of America’s best known house museums.
Hearst Castle® was originally built as the private estate of art collector and publisher William Randolph Hearst. Guided tours of the estate bring the young students of today into the history of the past in one of the most vast and varied art collections in America today. In the Hearst Castle® Visitor Center Exhibit, children can complete a free treasure hunt and a prize is awarded to all participants.
As a California State Park, Hearst Castle® is located half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles on the breathtaking Highway 1 coastal drive. Hearst Castle® is open for tours daily during the summer months.
